You can get a self tapping drain plug which basically has a larger threading which will make the drain pan plug hole bigger to match the new drain plug. This however is only a temporary fix. This will only last for a few oil changes before the pan strips again. You will ultimately need to replace the oil pan.How to fix stripped oil pan plug?
Most auto parts stores will have a replacement plug with a different thread pitch .
Use that along with teflon tape and a nylon crunch washer and don't over tighten it anymore.
This happened to me. My boyfriend had to take the drain pan off. It was kind of a pain. There are tools you can buy. Try them first.
You can get an expandable plug or get a new one that is self threading.
just go to auto zone or any parts store and get a self tapping oil plug and put it in, it will cut its own threads.
