It is a1999 cadilac catera we had head replace an we put new gasket on a new raditor on new hoses onMy Cadillac cat era has water and oil mix together how do i fix it?
Someone must didnt Torque the head down right or the gasket moved or something. anyway You need to replace intake manifold gaskets whenever the heads are off. Coolant flows through the intake/plenum as well %26amp; these need replacing anyways on older cars. Hurry up oil %26amp; antifreeze makes a low-grade acid mix that eats up vital engine parts. My Cadillac cat era has water and oil mix together how do i fix it?
yea man, sorry to hear that. i bet you spent about 1500 or more on that. those cars have a lot of problems, but are a nice car. take it back to the caddy house and trade it in or get ready to drop the same amount or more on the repair.
said repair cost totals may equal to not keeping the car. if your cars worth 5500,why sink 3000 into it and still risk another problem, you be better off getting a better car
When this happens, your coolant is mixing with your oil.
A very bad thing.
You should check your gasket again, as well as the head level(if it was leveled by a professional.)
Also check your hoses to make sure they are going where their supposed to.
Depending on weather is in the radiator or engine.
In radiator, it's a busted oil cooler and the radiator will have to be removed and fixed, then the transmission will have to be flushed.
If engine, odds are it's a blown head gasket. Both are professional jobs.
Continuing to run it will do serious damage to either system.
Did they replace the head or just replace the gasket...this is a big difference, if they only replaced the Head Gaskets, and you had oil and water all ready mixing, the heat could have caused the head to crack, which you mechanic may not have pressure checked the heads...and told you they did.
This is not uncommon...take it to a second mechanic and have it checked.
