How to fix stripped oil pan plug?

go to the parts store and buy a self tapping oil plug and install it in place of your old plug, take your old plug to the parts store with you so they know what size to give you.How to fix stripped oil pan plug?
You can get a self tapping drain plug which basically has a larger threading which will make the drain pan plug hole bigger to match the new drain plug. This however is only a temporary fix. This will only last for a few oil changes before the pan strips again. You will ultimately need to replace the oil pan.How to fix stripped oil pan plug?
Most auto parts stores will have a replacement plug with a different thread pitch .





Use that along with teflon tape and a nylon crunch washer and don't over tighten it anymore.
This happened to me. My boyfriend had to take the drain pan off. It was kind of a pain. There are tools you can buy. Try them first.
You can get an expandable plug or get a new one that is self threading.
just go to auto zone or any parts store and get a self tapping oil plug and put it in, it will cut its own threads.
