If my engine is burning oil then how do i fix it?

the engine needs rebuilt. If my engine is burning oil then how do i fix it?
well it depends on if it is burning inside or outside the engine.....it could be something as simple as a leaking gasket (do you see oil spots on the ground where you park?)...... or as catastrophic as the rings being bad or a broken piston....could be valve seals.....I would find out where the oil is going......check the exhaust.....if it is blowing blue smoke, then you are burning the oil internally in the motor....if the exhaust is clear then it is probbly leaking oil somewhere and burning when it drops on the exhaust......If my engine is burning oil then how do i fix it?
There is no easy fix for an engine burning oil. It could be rings, or it could be valve seals or both.
replace your rings
Really it depends on how bad it is. You have a leak somewhere. It won't kill your car if it is not that bad.
over haul with new rings and gaskets etc.
Check compression. Is there a lot of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust after slowing down on the engine? Valve stem rubbers. Low compression? Rings. But changing only the rings might not be the best idea, if there's an edge on the inside of the cilinder wall. Been there dun that...nope, no good. Rings will hit it and cause more trouble.

Go ahead and get compression tested.Get the engine running, get a long screwdriver and listen like a doctor putting the handle to your ear and the other end on different spots near the cilinder head. You might hear a knock on one spot and nowhere else, maybe a bad piston.
