to fix our problemyou need to sand lightley with a150 grit sand paper .clean the surface by using a tack rag. then lightly coat with a fine brisle brush. you must keep them in a area where there is not wind or air blowing on them because this will allow dust and other airborn particles to settle in the finish while drying making the surface feel rough . you can repeat this process until your desired look is acheived.I applied oil poly to some stained cabinet doors with cheese cloth and alot of bubbles.
