Is there a way to fix an engine for a car that has been damaged by oil sludge?

I have been told by the maintenance shop I need a new engine help.Is there a way to fix an engine for a car that has been damaged by oil sludge?
You need a new engine. You'll pour huge amounts of money into the old one trying to fix, and you'll still have an old, damaged motor. All the cleaning attempts will do is to break loose more chunks of sludge and damage it more.

I'm not sure what these clowns think cleaning the engine would do to fix the damage. Is there a way to fix an engine for a car that has been damaged by oil sludge?
get some engine flush and dump it into the oil, start your car, let it idle for about 5 minutes, shut it down, drop the oil pan and clean the oil pan out and the pick-up screen on the oil pump, put the pick-up tube back on the oil pump, put the oil pan back on with a new gasket, change the filter and add new oil.
You only have 2 options. 1. have the engine rebuilt, the machine shop will ';steam clean'; the block itself. 2. buy a new engine. It comes down to this...the cost of having it rebuilt, parts and labor, vs. the cost of the new motor and labor!
Take the motor to a machine shop and get it clean for like $35 bucks, but u have to tear the motor down to a bear block and take the heads to the shop to.
Yes this may sound a little extreme but it will work. Drain half the oil put in 2quarts of Diesel fuel and let it run a few minutes then turn it off an change the oil and filter. That should do the trick.
It depends on just what is damaged and how bad. A complete rebuild might solve the problem but it could well cost you as much as a new engine depending on what's ruined.
