How bad is oil on a spark plug? what would i do to fix it?

I have a 1975 chevy c10 and i wanna rebuild the engine is it an okay investment? How bad is oil on a spark plug? what would i do to fix it?
Great investment if the body and trans/rear is sound.

Is it a straight-six or an eight?

Cheaper to fix and maintain, there is nothing wrong with sixes, contrary to what most tough-guys will say. A c-10 can do it's job well, without a giant, nitro v8.

Anyway, you will probably find it much quicker and cheaper to replace the motor. Especially if it is 2wd.

There are a million chevy motors floating around, especially if you want to upgrade to a v8.

Straight-sixes are not as common, in good used condition. But you could put a v-6 from the 80's-90's in there.

Oh yeah, oil in plug means rebuild(rings shot), or maybe just bad valve seats. It really depends on when the oil is there, and how long it smokes for, after you start it up.How bad is oil on a spark plug? what would i do to fix it?
before taking it apart, make sure you need to. on

a cylinder which is not firing, the plug will look wet.

it could be an ignition fault, a valve not operating.

if it has bad rings, you should be seeing blue smoke, increasing when you're acclerating, and a new spark plug will build up deposits quickly, it will only become oily, after it stops firing
..Thats hard to answer, if its a ';Good investment....With Gas prices high, and people and dealers trying to ';Dump';..gas guzzlers, you would have a very hard time if you wanted to sell, but as Hobby, or reliable vehicle...you have a truck that ';Runs';...

Oil on Spark plug??...yes you need a rebuild.
