first......be sure there is oil in the crankcase......is it making any noise?.......remove the oil pressure sensor....install a hose %26amp; pressure gauge.....run the engine %26amp; read the gauge....need at least 10 lbs. pressure....if it has pressure...replace the sender.....if not.....change the oil %26amp; filter....if still not...check distributer oil pump drive ....if that,s ok......remove the oil pan %26amp; inspect the oil pump.....if your not equiped to do this......have it towed to your mechanic for inspection......good luck!
It likes to play tricks on you, but don't be fooled! Ignore its cries of wolf, don't validate its falsified pain! That sort of alienation will drive it to multiple excruciating internal conflicts, with much weeping and gnashing of teeth. And thus will it be subject to subordination once more!
First thing to do is check to see if you have oil in it.
Provided you actually don't have low oil pressure there is a sensor / switch for the light.
it means either you have a bad sending unit or the oil pressure is too low and damage to the engine will eventually occur. you need to hook up a manual oil pressure gauge to the engine and see what the oil pressure is. if it's low (below 10 or so psi, then you have worn out bearings, oil pump or both.
