Draining/changing oil to fix exhaust problem?

my car started spewing white smoke today, after i filled it with oil. however, i put way too much on accident, and.once i had driven for a bit the smoking up started.

would draining and refilling the car with the right amount of oil possibly fix this problem?

thanks.Draining/changing oil to fix exhaust problem?
HI I'm not sure if overfilling it well cause damage but it well slow down the rotating assembly as it splashes Thu the extra oil... and it well cause it to smoke as the extra oil is splashed up onto the pistons.. How over full is it??? you can just remove the oil filter dump it out and put it back on then start it then check the oil level again.. if its the full size filter it may hold 1 qt. of oil..

good luck

yes,,, just drain some out into a container .till you have the correct level.
If you have not blown a seal, it may. Overfilling increases the pressure on th internal seals and rings and can cause serious engine damage. Try it and see.
