Who is responsible for the outragous rise in oil and the crippling economy? Which candidate can fix this mess?

I am very concerned about the future of this country and the entire world as we know it. Who should we place this very critical election in the hands of? Obviously God. But who on earth should we trust. I hope someone who dosen't continue a world distructive war policy that can lead to nuclear war and total distruction of the universe. Please comment. Thanks.Who is responsible for the outragous rise in oil and the crippling economy? Which candidate can fix this mess?

No candidate is going to fix this mess very quickly. Bush and his administration have done one helluva job of making a mess - the likes of which its citizens have not seen since the Great Depression. He and his administration continue to pathologically lie and will do so long after he has left office.

God helps those who help themselves. And no one who believes in these pathological greedy lies is helping him or herself.

You want to do something? Start by conducting massive researches from reliable sources.
There are 5 reasons for high gas prices

1 - supply and demand, China and India using more

2 - the collapse of the dollar due to Bush's record spending and debt

3 - restricted supply because oil companies have shut down 75% of refineries since 1985 to raise prices.

4 - illegal collusion between Big oil companies and OPEC to keep prices high

5 - speculation in the deregulated commodities market. Since the housing market and stock market are down, the rich are now making money by driving up oil prices.

McCain and the Reps are all for deregulation and so will do nothing about speculation, collusion and refineries. And Reps always have BIG deficits in their budgets (see Reagan and both Bush's) so the dollar will only get weaker.

Obama and the Dems may reinstate some oversight in the markets and start reducing the deficits so I'm voting Obama.
If you are pinning you hopes on a presidential candidate to fix the economic problems, you are going to be disappointed.

As far as war across the globe, the USA is not promoting war. Other countries and organizations are taking arms against the USA. This is a threat that must be met with force.

The policies of the Democratic party will not solve the problems we are facing. The Republican party's policies will. We just need a competent person at the helm. That person was not GWB.
Neither bipartisan candidate can fix our problems. They're both spineless, flip-flopping morons and I wish we could start over.

McCain wants to lift the moratorium on offshore drilling, so that's one way to drive down the price of gas, because it creates a threat to the oil markets in the middle east, and puts us into the position to negotiate with OPEC. This is exactly what happened in the 70's, they felt threatened because we actually started plans to drill domestically, then abandoned it when gas prices were negotiated to an acceptable rate. But this isn't a long-term solution.

Obama wants to instill a windfall profits tax on the oil companies. This is a JOKE because the companies will just collect the tax from the consumer, driving the price up even more.

Answer: Don't trust any candidate, they both suck.
The market is responsible for the rise and fall of commodity prices; i.e. oil, food, etc. The economy mess I believe is predominantly due to former Federal Reserve Chairman Greenspan and our messed up anti-business tax code.

More importantly though you need to ask yourself what you believe the role of government is and then vote that way. There is no guarantee that Obama won't take us into a new war and that McCain won't add new government programs. How do you view the role of government and vote the party (not the person) that resembles that platform. Good luck and this country is resilient regardless of the scare tactics in the media.
The mentally filthy rich oil mongols who seem to have a need to show off their wealth. Congress and Senate have a say but say nothing and help no one but themselves. It is a sad world now isn't it and the rich need to know they can't buy their way into the gates!
I don't think either candidate will fix it. For some reason we have allowed a monopoly within the oil companies. No competition, obviously colluding to set prices. Neither party will even take the issue on.
Yes, we are all concerned. Uncertain times does that to people. That's why the say Keep the Faith. Optimism sees a new beginning -- pessimism sees the end.

A. The world market

B. None of them
I'm not going to answer your first question because there are loads of possible biased answers. As for your second question, politicians are HOPELESS in economic situations. You follow government info on economy and you'll end up being one step behind the market.
You wouldn't listen if I told you and no candidate will or even wishes to fix it. You are cattle and will be treated as such until you stand as men.
Neither Candidate can lower the price of oil...It is speculators and supply and demand in growing China and India.
No one person can fix what you talk about but it's about the economy and it will get better. Be well!
OPEC controls the price of oil. There is no candidate that can fix that.
The one who believes we should tax our way out of it.
