Can I use Shredder oil instead of WD40 to fix a squeeky door?

WD40 is water displacing ( W - D, right? ) oil extracted from fish processing. It will dissapate rapidly leaving a sticky residue that attracts dust and dirt, wearing the hinges out, and requiring frequent reapplication.

In other words, it's not the right stuff. Commercial installers - the good ones - use spray lithium grease. Can I use Shredder oil instead of WD40 to fix a squeeky door?
Yes. You could also use petroleum jelly ( babies bottoms) or candle wax. Rub candle on door. Hey Presto. Doors also squeak if not fitted properly, ie. to tight. May need adjusted. Can I use Shredder oil instead of WD40 to fix a squeeky door?
Any oil is fine. WD40 is much the same thing, only slightly more penetrating.

Even cooking oil would do.
I have found that rubbing flora or some other margarine into the joint of the hinge works as well.
You can use Corn oil if you want to.
Don't know what shredder oil is but any oil will cure the squeak.
Any oil is ok.
