Plz help! What is the average cost to fix when the water has went into the oil area?

Ok im a girl and dont know nuthing bout cars but i learned my lesson. My car overheated on me and well i parked. So i guess the radiator had no water so once it cooled off i put water in it. Then after a while it still overheated, then i checked the oil and from what they have told me i guess water traveled to where the oil is at. So i just want to know what is going to be needed to fix my car and how much it will cost me.Plz help! What is the average cost to fix when the water has went into the oil area?
First of all. Those who keep ';screaming cracked'; block are most likely wrong. What has happened is when you overheated the engine it warped the head and or ruined the head gasket (or both). What it will cost depends on several things. Brand and size of engine. How many miles does it have on it? If it is high mileage, I would recommend replacing the entire engine rather than redoing just the heads as it could cause more problems. Contact several shops and get estimates. That will give you the information to make an informed decision.Plz help! What is the average cost to fix when the water has went into the oil area?
the engine is ruined when you get water in your oil the block is cracked the easiest way to fix it is to get a new car
It sounds to me like a possible blow-en head gasket. Bring it to a repair shop and have them do what is called a pressure check on the system. That will tell you where your problem lies.
There is only two ways for water to get into the oil

1. Someone poured it in the oil fill area

2. you have cracked your block and the coolant is seeping into the engine and getting into the oil ( NOT GOOD )

take it to the shop and have them put it on a computer they will tell you how bad it is, most likely you will need a new engine don't keep driving it with water getting into the oil eventually you will throw a rod usually through the side of the engine and when it goes you will be walking from that spot, it wont move from that point except on a tow truck.
If it's a GM 3.1 liter V6 it's possible that your problem is intake gaskets. The gasket port cracks allowing coolant into the oil? Husband asks what kind of car is it and what year?
