How much will it cost to fix the oil leak on my honda accord 96 V6?

OK. went to a shop,40 bucks later he told me it was the oil filter/timing case assembly was cracked and he does not fix it, and does not know how much it would cost (600 - 1000 bucks) was what he said. How much will it cost to fix the oil leak on my honda accord 96 V6?
Sounds like you wasted forty bucks and some time. Don't go back there. Only if to tell him what they found wrong with your car later. Probly the oil filter on to tight, see it all the time, It rolls the o-ring out. You have the oil change at a 10 minute oil service or such ? That is where this type of thing happens each day somewhere.Happened next door thursday,But i fixed him Saturday,Cleaned the driveway too.How much will it cost to fix the oil leak on my honda accord 96 V6?
You should take it to a place that doesn't charge you if they cant fix it. Places that do charge for no results are the same places that mess up some tiny part of your car that you wont ever notice, but will need major service for later on.

I always took my jeep to a spee-dee place until once when I was out of town and needed it serviced. The spee-dee guys did $500 of work. Simple lube, oil, chassis, spark plugs+wires. The other guy who I know for a fact is legit ended up doing $1700 of work, including replacing the entire front axle and drive train, because they had become FUBAR due to being 'improperly lubed'. 2 of the spark wires had been mysteriously cut. Cut to make it look like tearing, or rubbing, but clearly cut. So ya lesson is, find a good mechanic and build rep with him so you dont get ripped off.

But I digress, due do being quite drunk. My apologies.

I'd say around 250-350 in basic parts and labor. If they con u into some other major fix then 600-1000 is probably spot on.

One more thing, the cracked case assembly would probaby not be the cause of the leak. It'll be the actual filter that is leaking, so if that is the case then you could just replace the filter as long as the tiiming stuff isnt damaged.
first of all, need to know if you bottomed out the car by cracking the casing or the filter, next you can inspect the car yourself by checking the oil filter if it's loose and look for cracks around housing and casing, if it is cracked you might want to look for a used one before repairing your old, its cheaper to buy and the labor will be around $500 to $750 at the shops to replace it.
You need to take the car to another shop. Could be as simple as a leaking oil filter.
