What will happen if a lifter does not come up after an oil pump fix?

After an oil pump installilation only 15 lifters out of 16 came up. Will this cause a problem? What will happen if a lifter does not come up after an oil pump fix?
Yes! The cam will eventually wear a whole in the bottom of the lifter, and even flatten the lobe on the cam, also could cause excessive wear on the push rod, rocker arm and top of valve stem. If not corrected can cause more internal damage that can lead to engine failure.lWhat will happen if a lifter does not come up after an oil pump fix?
There are a couple of proceedures for getting lifters to pump up depending on what engine you have. Yes it can cause excess wear if left that way.
