How do you fix oil in spark plugs?

I have a 98 Mitsub Mirage that has oil in all 4 plugs and the engine has a knock sometimes but not all the time. The engine has 206,000 miles on it. Is there a way to fix this or should I just replace the engine? How do you fix oil in spark plugs?
Engine knocks happen to due running too lean.

But oil on all spark plugs (or wet plug) says you are running too rich. You definitely have oil (or wet plug) so you are definitely running rich (failed O2 sensor, failed MAF sensor, failed water temp sensor).

So I think you don't engine knock. You might have CLICKING - which is due to lack of oil or oil pressure.

Good Luck...How do you fix oil in spark plugs?
I assume it's burning oil and fouling the plugs?

If it is you can go to the parts shop and get a ';hotter'; plug, the center electrode will go down deeper into the body of the plug before widening out, this causes the tip to run a little hotter, tending to burn off oil better

You can also try shrinking the plug gap to .020-.025 and that makes for a slightly thicker hotter spark, that also helps overcome the fouling a bit, also it results in needing a lower voltage to jump the gap also, which will help keep the spark on top more so than down in the body if the plug is fouling or damaged

That knocking possibly sounds like an ignition or preignition problem, possibly as the engine changes temperature and sensors send feedback to the control module, also possibly it may be changing the timing in response to misfires in the cylinders if the plugs are fouling

If it was worn bearings, those would be more consistent
Does the engine have poor compression? If so, there is oil leaking around the piston rings or the cylinder walls are worn. In this case it will be very expensive. A new engine will most likely cost you more than the car is worth, so I'd forget that idea if I were you.

If all is okay with the compression then it's most likely the gasket on the valve cover leaking oil onto the plugs. This is a much less expensive problem.

As for engine knock it could one of many things, in fact too many to try and diagnose here.
206K is a lot for a 4 cyl. so it may be valve guide seals, or rings losing compression, or low oil pressure or bad bearings causing the knock, but, instead of apending a ton of money for many repairs, I'm sure you'd be better off with a low mileage used motor.
You can get adapters that screw into heads in plug holes before you screw in the plugs to shield the oil from the plugs . The are called non Fowler's. But i would seriously be thinking a bout rebuilding or replacing the motor before long. Good luck
oil fouled plugs, high mileage, and what sounds like a rod starting to knock...time for a new motor or a rebuild. Good luck.
rebulid or replace
It sounds like you have blown a seal. Check your intake manifold gaskets and that general area
rebuild the engine or replace it
junk thecar cost to much to fix it.its too old
