How much does it cost to fix an oil leak?

My car is leaking minor oil. I went to jiffy lube and they said the gasket is wet. So im thinking im just needing a new gasket? Correct me if im wrong

ThanksHow much does it cost to fix an oil leak?
1st off, without proper diagnostics you cannot get a proper repair... with that being said...

2nd, depending on which gasket is leaking, make, model, and engine as well as labor costs as to how much its going to cost to fix. If its the head gasket, it will cost more and you will end up replacing other gaskets and seals in the process. If its just a valve cover gasket or oil pan gasket they are rather easy and cheaper to have replaced.

3rd, if it's just a small minor leak(doesn't leak much at all or is just wet) you can keep driving as long as you keep an eye on the oil level, at least every other day on so.

God luck and hope this helpsHow much does it cost to fix an oil leak?
How much does a house cost? Seems like a pretty open question huh? It would depend on where it is, how big it is, all sorts of factors affect how much that house would cost. So why would the same not be true for auto repair. You NEED to tell us what year, make, model, engine of the vehicle you have. Then you need to tell us where the leak is at? It could be the drain plug gasket, the oil filter gasket, the oil pan gasket, the intake manifold gasket, the head gasket, the oil sending unit, the front crank seal, the cam oil seal, the rear main oil seal, the side cover gasket.......... There is no best answer to your question. Ask it again please, this time with more information.
it depends on how easy it is to get to the oil pan and remove it, because the gasket is cheap, is the labor that can add up. I have a leak and its really hard to get to it. they have to move the transmission and move a bunch of other stuff and so it would be about $700. I dont think its worth it so i just keep on top of it and i bought something thats supposed to seal that you put in like oil.
definitely yes sir u need a new gasket......now u just need to know where to buy it and how to put it on.....the second thing its if its only the gasket or oil seals and yes theres 2 of them maybe even 3.....but if u know a good sort about cars well than just gotta have the right tools, and be willing to spend about 1hour to a day if its the rear engine seal.........the oil pan its pretty simple to take off.....oh yeah it'll be messy...and u need to raise the car a good height......than u probably a 10-13';socket along with an extension and ratchet.....some cylicone and of course the gasket.......well get to work.
it is a relatively easy fix, but you can go to sears or pep boys to have it done. you can also go and buy the gasket and have a shade tree do it?
you should take it somewhere else cause it dont matter if your gasket is wet its going to leak if its cracked so yea you would need a new one. if its on the oil pan it should be to much
Valve cover gaskets are relatively cheap.
Buy the gasket and try to put it on.
Hope it's not the Rear main seal is it leaking oil in the front or back of Trans? Get it checked out...
depends on WHERE it's leaking from and what kind of car/engine it is.
